Each year, the Wayne Soccer Club holds a fall Fundraising Dinner Dance, with a Tricky Tray, to support the financial needs of the club. In 2010, this dinner raised over $20,000 and accounted for nearly 15% of what it costs to provide our kids with a rich, professional soccer program. The funds raised enable us to keep the Wayne Soccer Club as one of the most competitively-priced soccer programs as compared to other clubs throughout northern New Jersey. In addition, teams that are very successful in raising funds are also able to earn funds for use by their own team for training and other team costs beyond what is funded by the club.
As approved by the Club’s Board of Directors and supported by its many coaches, this year’s fundraising dinner will be held at the Barnyard Tavern’s spacious Carriage House on Totowa Road in Totowa at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011. Teams are asked to support the event as follows:
1) Each team is expected to purchase a minimum of ten (10) tickets, which represents one full table. Tickets are available at $55 per person and include a buffet dinner, beer/wine and DJ entertainment. A cash bar is also available.
2) Each team is expected to sell at least two (2) books of raffle tickets (10 tickets per book) for each player on the team. (For families with more than one child in the club, this minimum applies only to the oldest child in the family). Raffle tickets are $2 each ($20 per book) and provide an opportunity to win a 16 gig Apple iPad (first prize), Apple iPod touch (second prize), or $100 VISA gift card (third prize). Teams will earn 50% of the proceeds from raffle ticket sales in excess of the two (2) books per player minimum.
3) Each team is expected to sell at least $500 of advertising in the dinner’s Ad Journal. Forms to submit ad copy and payments by October 22, 2010 accompany this letter. Teams will earn at least 50% of Ad Journal funds raised by them in excess of $750 and 60% of Ad Journal funds raised by them in excess of $1,000. Teams that obtain dinner sponsorships/large prizes to be raffled receive 50% of the value of those sponsorships or prizes.
4) Each team is expected to contribute at least one (1) gift basket with a minimum value of $100 to be raffled during the Tricky Tray program.
In addition to the financial benefits that this dinner brings to our club and its teams, the evening also provides a wonderful opportunity to build and maintain a sense of community among the Club’s parents. We have over 250 boys and girls registered in the Wayne Soccer Club’s programs this year. Please support this important opportunity to make the 2010-2011 season the best yet for the Wayne Soccer Club and our kids. Go soccer!
